Greetings,
I used an ASCII pentagram which I found on "ALT.ASCII.ART" on my
bulletin boards' main menu. Now, I would like to have an ANKH, a SWORD
(preferrably slanted, ie: / <-like this or \ <-this), a CUP (chalice/
goblet-type) and a STAVE (wand/baton with small (budding ?) flowers,
if possible).
So, does anyone have any ideas about this? I'm currently compiling a
review of the Tarot and I would like to use some graphic examples on both
my menus and my messages concerning this topic. If anyone has any other
"magical theme" ASCII art, please feel free to post them here to either
of these ASCII USENET newsgroups.
P.S. I have attached a copy of an old `ad' which we circulated to
promote our online special interest group (SIG). I used the
ASCII pentagram in it. Enjoy!

in the days of my youth the above table was the only thing
that could be displayed on a computer terminal
all the chars 128 and above were either undefined or used
for multilingual variations (mostly European)
sometimes corner angles and half-tone (hash) chars were
accessible but often required a special code-sequence
to switch the video-terminal into a different mode
user-defined-fonts or font-switching was almost unheard of
OEM fonts were defined by the major VDU manufacturers and they
were free to define the char range 128-256 as they pleased
modern fonts today still inherit these properties
thus the only guaranteed char shapes in _all_ fonts
are the chars produced by the codes 32 thru' 127 decimal

I'm not aware of any copyright hassle. If someone doesn't want their art to appear here, tell me and I'll remove it immediately. I've included 'From:' lines to tell who emailed or posted the piece(s). In many cases, the person who sends or posts the art is not the creator. Unfortunately that information is sometimes lost. The sender's comments are in quotes. My comments appear in brackets. Anything else came as part of the art. The various postings and archives have been gathered and edited by The Scarecrow. Most of the editing that I did was in selecting what was to be included. I removed unnecessary leading spaces (except in sigs, plans and bbs art) and removed blank spaces from anything over 80 columns wide. Actually, I try to keep everything to within 78 columns, as I hear some systems can't handle any more on one line. I also fixed obvious file damage. I only did 'touch up' work on a few pieces. Most everything appears as it was sent. This archive is over 350 K, and contains hundreds of pieces (I didn't have time to count them). It's just a sampling of what's 'out there' that caught my eye as the parade of goodies passed by. They come from posts, email, private collections, pictures I made or modified, etc. Thanks to all of you who have emailed me with art to include. I would rather see a post with an ID than without. It helps to know
if it's a request, pic, talk, etc. But they are in your face at the
beginning of the line.
How about if we put them at the end (except on long subject linss)?
Maybe in (), or not. It would be there, but be out of the way. This
makes sense if most readers don't always need to look at it. What do you
